Before installing insulation to your attic, you should select the right type of insulation. There are several kinds. Batts, cellulose and loose-fill insulation are the most popular and cost-effective. Batts are easily cut to fit around vents and cost between 0.15 and $0.50 per square feet. Both types have an R-value of 3.2 to 3.8 per inch. Loose-fill insulation is an excellent choice for homes that don't have much headroom. It can be used to replace insulation. This product is made from cellulose or fiberglass.
