Unemployment Benefits
There are two types of unemployment benefits offered by the Department of Labor: unemployment compensation and disability benefits. Disability benefits are designed to compensate for the lost earnings or compensation and cover long-term disability. You are entitled to disability benefits in the event that you become injured or disabled while you are eligible for unemployment benefits or receiving unemployment compensation. Benefits for disability are paid by either your employer's disability benefits insurance or your company may be self-employed and cover their own disability benefits.
