| Adding your first entry - the quick way |
- Add a new book entry by clicking here.
- Go to the My Activities page to review it.
- Have a look at your list of books when you have added a few entries.
- And check out your book statistics when you have been adding books for a while.

| Adding your first entry - the details |

- Keeping a book file begins with the Finished reading a book activity type.
- You can start by adding it to your favorite activities by clicking here.
- Adding your first book entry can then be done by clicking the green plus icon next to the book icon on the Find Activities page.
- From then on you can always just click the same green icon from the My Activities page.
- When adding a book entry only the Title is required, but you can add as many details as you like, whether you are a "completist" or not.
- Your Global Privacy Settings have automatically been set, but you can change them for this specific event if you like.
- You can also choose to use the Started reading a book activity type if you want to keep track of how long you take to read a book.
- And you can use the Read a book activity if you want to remember every time you read part of a book and how much you read.

| Reviewing and finding your entry |

- Once you have submitted your entry you will be taken to the details page where you can review it.
- If you would like to change anything you can edit the entry by clicking the pencil icon in the lower right corner.
- If you have chosen to share the entry with friends you can see what it looks like on their News Feed by clicking the date to the right of Activity date.
- You can click the text of the news feed sentence to be taken back to the details of your book entry.
- If you instead click the book icon you will be taken to a list view of all your book entries for easy navigating.
- At the top of the list view you can follow the statistics link to see how many books you have read over a given period of time, how you rated them, how much time you spent reading them and more.
- You can get a calender view of your entries by clicking the calendar link from the blue link bar at the top.
- On the calendar page you can hover your mouse over any of the entries to see more details.

| Sharing your entry |

- The privacy setting you have set for your entry will decide who will be able to see it.
- If you have chosen that your friends should be allowed to see it, it will show up on their Friend Feed page.
- If you haven't yet connected to friends on the site you can send them an invitation from the Friends link in the blue link bar at the top of the site.
- You can also share a summary of selected activity on your own site or blog by using the Activity Card Editor.

| Changing the privacy settings |

- You can easily see the privacy setting of all your entries by the icon on the My Activities page.
- To change the Privacy setting of a single entry you simply edit the entry by clicking the pencil icon in the options bar of the book entry.
- You can also change the privacy setting on all your book entries at once.
- This is done by following the Example and settings link on the list view page and using the checkbox at the bottom.

| Deleting an entry |

- To delete a book entry you have to go to the details page and use the red cross icon in the bottom right corner.
- This will make the item invisible from everyone but you and will remove it from your calendar view and statistics pages.
- While the entry is marked as deleted you can still choose to undelete it by using the red recycling icon on the details page.
- If you wish to remove the entry completely you can go to your list of deleted items and use the purge button.
- When an item has been purged it will be completely removed from the database and can no longer be retrived.
